Uridine Description

Uridine is one of the key nucleotide that making RNA^[1-3]. It is a glycosylated pyrimidine-analog

containing uracil attached to a ribose ring[or more specifically, a ribofuranose] via a β-N1-glycosidic

bond. It is one of the five standard nucleosides which make up nucleic acids[including both RNA

and DNA] with the others four being adenosine, thymidine, cytidine and guanosine.

Application

1. Uridine is phosphorylated to nucleotides, which are used for DNA and RNA synthesis as well as

   for the synthesis of membrane constituents and glycosylation^[6-8].
