Properties:

salicylic acid as white crystalloid powder, odurless, taste bitter first turn. after essien micro melting point 157-159 ℃, in light of beijing gradually become angry. the relative density at least 1.44. the boiling point about 211 ℃ / plus 2.67 kpa. 76 ℃ distillation. under ordinary heat decomposition for sharp phenol and carbon dioxide. 1g salicylic acid can dissolve in water, respectively 460ml 15ml boiling water, 2.7 ml 3ml acetone, ethanol, ethyl ether, chloroform, 3ml 42ml 135ml benzene, turpentine, about 52ml 60ml glycerin and 80ml petroleum ether. add sodium, borax etc can increase the solubility of salicylic acid in the water. salicylic acid aqueous ph value 2.4. salicylic acid and chloride-ferric chloride solution generation special purple.
